Xiaoyaozi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Xiaoyaozi of Xikou, 75 km southeast of Zhen’an, Shaanxi. It was named by Wang Guolian and Sun Xiufang in 1973.
Lithology and Thickness
Gray and gray-white moderately thick-bedded massive limestone intercalated with pimple limestone. Thickness 208−457 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformable contact with the underlying Sixiakou Fm
Upper contact
Conformable contact with the overlying Yangshan Fm
Regional extent
Distributed along Xikou to Xunyang Mansion at Zhen’an of Shaanxi

Fossils
The Fusulinids are divided into three zones ascending: (1) Pseudostaffella subsphaeroides-Profusulinella wangyui zone, (2) Fusulinella bocki zone, and (3) Fusulina quasicylindrica zone; brachiopods include Choristites abnormalis, Fluctuaria undata, Linoproductus sp., etc.; Corals Koninckophyllum tushanense, Lophophyllum sp., Lithostrotionella sp., etc.
